May 1, 2013
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Sophomore Boo Timko of the Ohio State men's golf team was honored by the Big Ten and named a Second Team All-Big Ten honoree, the league announced Wednesday. The honor is the first of his career.
Timko, a Girard, Ohio, product, leads the Buckeyes with a 72.96 stroke average and has recorded a team-best 10 rounds under par this year. He's finished in the Top 20 in seven of the team's 11 tournaments, including a second place finish at the Northwestern Spring Invitational to close out the regular season. His 8-under 208 at the tournament marked a season best.
Ohio State hopes to secure a spot in its own NCAA Regional, May 16-18, on the Scarlet Course. The field is set to be announced May 6 on NCAA.com.
