HISTORY OF THE KEPLER
Ohio State has hosted the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate every year but two since the 1969 season. The tournament is named for the late Robert Kepler, who served as Ohio State's golf coach from 1938 until 1965. Under Kepler, Ohio State built a golfing tradition which was enhanced by the NCAA team championship in 1945 and four NCAA individual champions.

Since its inception, the Kepler has been won by only a dozen schools -- Colorado, Eastern Michigan, Michigan, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Illinois, Kent State, Louisville, Miami (OH), Northwestern, Ohio State, UNLV and Xavier. The Buckeyes have hoisted the tournament champion trophy 23 times in the 46-year history of The Kepler Intercollegiate, including six consecutive victories from 1974-79 and nine straight from 1981-89. In-state rival Kent State ranks second with five team victories while fellow Big Ten schools, Indiana and Northwestern, are tied for third place with four team triumphs each. Ohio Stats has also taken individual medalist honors 21 times, with Frederik Hammer being the most recent in 2014.

PAST CHAMPIONS: Ohio State (23), Kent State (5), Indiana (4), Northwestern (4), Georgia Tech (2), UNLV (2), Colorado (1), Eastern Michigan (1), Illinois (1), Louisville (1), Miami (OH) (1), Xavier (1).

The lowest team score posted in the event's history came in 2015 when Georgia Tech shot a three-round total of 848 to claim its second straight Kepler crown. Penn State's Kevin Foley fired the lowest individual score, and 8-under 205 in 2010.

COLUMBUS HOSTING 2018 NCAA REGIONAL
The Ohio State University is one of six host sites for the 2018 and 2022 NCAA Men's Golf Regionals. The three-day event will be played on the OSU Golf Club's Scarlet Course from May 14-16, 2018, and again in May '22.
