COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team heads to Wilmington, N.C., for the Seahawk Intercollegiate March 24-25. The 54-hole tournament will take place on the par 72, 6,877-yard Country Club of Landfall Nicklaus Golf Course.

Sophomores Boo Timko and Grant Weaver along with freshmen Michael Bernard, Max Rosenthal and Tee-k Kelly will represent the Buckeyes this weekend. Senior Matt Turner also joins the group and will compete as an individual.

The Ohio State men’s golf team finished fifth after recording a final score of 292 at the Seminole Intercollegiate March 15-17. The Buckeyes tallied a 54-hole score of 2-under 865 on the par 72, 7,172-yard Southwood Country Club in Tallahassee, Fla.
Florida State took home the team and individual titles with a team score of a 25-under 839, while Daniel Berger finished with an 11-under 205.
Freshman Michael Bernard led Ohio State throughout the tournament, concluding with a 2-under 214 (70-73-71) to finish tied for 13th. Bernard’s 18-hole score of 70 on the first day tied a career low and the Huber Heights, Ohio, product totaled 14 birdies over the three rounds.
BY THE NUMBERS
Ohio State has competed in eight tournaments and one match play tournament this season, holding a 48-44-1 record versus its 2012-13 opponents. Sophomore Boo Timko currently leads the team in stroke average with a 73, while classmate Grant Weaver is close behind with a 73.5 average. Timko and Weaver each have a team-best four finishes in the Top 20, including a fifth-place finish for Timko in September.
The Buckeyes return to Florida for the Gary Koch Invitational in Tampa, Fla., Apr. 7-8.
