Buckeyes in Fifth after Shortened First Day at Jack Nicklaus Invite

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- With day one in the books, the Ohio State men's golf team finished eighth with a 20-over 308 on the par 72, 7,353-yard Muirfield Village Golf Club at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational in Dublin. Play was delayed for over two hours this morning due to frost and the tournament was cut to 36 holes instead of 54.
Taking the lead after day one was Oklahoma State with a 7-over 295. Individually, UCF's Greg Eason leads the pack after carding a 2-under 70.
Freshman Tee-K Kelly finished tied for seventh with a 2-over 74 to lead the Buckeyes. Sophomore Grant Weaver came in tied for 23rd, carding a 5-over 77, while senior Matt Turner tallied a 6-over 78 to tie for 28th.
Sophomore Boo Timko finished tied for 31st with a 7-over 79 on the day and freshman Max Rosenthal rounded out the Buckeye lineup with an 82. Freshman Sean Busch, who is playing in his first collegiate tournament and is competing as an individual, tallied a score of 86. Sophomore Logan Jones had an 88 on the day.
Round two tee times will begin at 9 a.m. on holes 1 and 10 at the Muirfield Village Golf Club.
