WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Ohio State University men’s golf team trimmed 18 shots off of its 301-301 start to the Boilermaker Invitational, dipping down to a 5-under 283 in Round Three. The Sunday surge lifted OSU into fifth place overall in the 15-team competition contested at one of six host sites for the upcoming NCAA Regionals. Sophomore Daniel Wetterich earned his second straight Top-10 finish, tying for ninth among 84 players with scores of 75-71-72 (218; +2).
Wetterich racked a dozen birdies over the weekend in contributing three scores to the team tally. Jeg Coughlin III and Will Grimmer chipped in all three rounds as well, earning shares of 19th and 30th place, respectively. Eighty-four players carded a total of 252 rounds in the Boilermaker Invitational and Coughlin III’s Sunday 66 was the tournament low. The 6-under sum hoisted him 31 slots up the individual leaderboard over the last 18 holes.
