Ohio State Tied for First at Kepler Intercollegiate

COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio State men's golf team opened play on a rainy Saturday at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate Tournament and finished tied with Indiana for first with a 31-over 599 after two rounds of play at the Ohio State University Golf Club.
Redshirt freshman Logan Jones, who is competing as an individual, is tied for second going into the final day of competition. Jones carded a 6-over 148 on the par-71, 7,455-yard Scarlet Course.
Coming off his first individual win as a Buckeye at the Villanova Wildcat Invitational, junior Matt Turner followed closely to finish the day tied for fourth-place (7-over 149). Freshman Grant Weaver and senior Alex Redfield also placed in the top 15, each recorded a 9-over 151 to tie for 13th.
Competing as individuals, junior Jamie Sindelar and redshirt freshman Trey Sullivan finished tied for 59th and 69th, respectively. Sindelar carded an 18-over 160, while Sullivan had a 22-over 164 on the first day of action. Junior Gary Quinn placed 81st with a 29-over 171.
Southern Methodist's Max Buckley leads all individual competitors with a 5-over 147.
The field of 15 will return to the course tomorrow with tee times off Nos. 1 and 10 scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. start time. Live scoring will be available at www.golfstat.com.
