Ohio State Concludes Irish Creek Collegiate in Fifth

COLUMBUS, Ohio - In the third and final round of play at the Irish Creek Collegiate, the Ohio State men's golf team carded a 10-over 294 bringing its tournament total to 21-over 873. The two-day tournament was played on the par-71, 7,099-yard course at The Club at Irish Creek in Kannapolis, N.C. The Buckeyes ranked fifth among the 16 teams competing.
Representing the Scarlet and Gray, Boo Timko put together an even 213 performance, with a 2-over 73 scored in the third. The Buckeye junior dropped six birdies on the day, totaling 17 for the tournament. Among individual competitors, Timko finished in an 8th-place tie.
Following closely was freshman standout Frederik Hammer. With a 1-over 214, Hammer concluded the tournament in 10th place. Also to note, he had a stellar showing on the 15th hole in the third round, recording an ace on the par-3 hole.
Buckeyes Tee-k Kelly and Max Rosenthal were close in their scoring totals as well. Kelly, a sophomore this season, posted an 11-over 224 for 41st-place, while Rosenthal earned 52nd-place with a 12-over 225. Rosenthal, also a member of the sophomore class, tallied his best score in the final round of play, with a 3-over 74 aided by two birdies.
Junior Logan Jones rounded out Ohio State's attack with an 18-over 231.
Georgia State took home the team title with a 7-over 859, while MJ Maguire of North Florida was named the individual champion, posting an 8-under 205.
Next on the agenda, the Buckeyes will play host to the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, April 12-13. The tournament will take place on the Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University Golf Club.
