Buckeyes Fourth After Round Two of the FAU Spring Break Championship

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team finished day two of the Florida Atlantic University Spring Break Championship Saturday in fourth place. The Buckeyes are currently 2-under with a 566 total and have two Buckeyes in the Top 10 individually on the par-71 North Course at the Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth, Fla.
Senior Alex Redfield leads Ohio State with a 3-under 139 for eighth place. Redfield tallied a 2-under 69 in the second round after a 1-under 70 in the first.
The second Buckeye in the Top 10 is freshman Grant Weaver, who is having his best performance as Buckeye after carding 2-under 140 in two rounds of play. Weaver, currently tied for ninth, is on track to take down his current top overall finish of 25th, which he earned at the Inverness Intercollegiate early in the season.
Senior Dan Charen will enter the final round tied for 26th with a 1-over 143 total. Following closely is freshman Boo Timko, who is 2-over with a 144 and tied for 31st. Also adding to the Buckeye team total is junior Matt Turner. Turner is tied for 67th-place with a 10-over 152 performance.
Competing as an individual, junior Jamie Sindelar is currently tied for 46th with a 6-over 148. Redshirt freshman Logan Jones is tied for 72nd and 11-over 153, while junior Gary Quinn is 17-over with a 159 to hold the 84th spot. Redshirt freshman Trey Sullivan is in 88th with a 44-over 186.
Overall, Florida State’s Brooks Koepka and Northern Illinois’ Thomas Dunne are locked for first in the individual rankings with a 6-under 136 after two rounds. In the team standings, No. 25 Florida State remains on top with an impressive 12-under 556.
