Buckeyes Finish 13th at Puerto Rico Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State men's golf team concluded the Puerto Rico Classic in 13th after finishing the third round with a 2-over 290 Tuesday. The Buckeyes totaled a three-day score of 24-over 888 on the par 72, 6,902-yard River Course at the Rio Mar Country Club in Rio Grande, P.R.
Alabama captured the team title, finishing with a 33-under 831. Albin Choi of NC State soared up the individual leaderboard after carding a final round of 65 to win the tournament with a 12-under 204.
Freshman Michael Bernard led the Buckeyes on the final day, carding a 2-under 70. The 18-hole total was a career-low for the Huber Heights, Ohio, native. Bernard finished tied for 39th with a 5-over 221.
Classmate Max Rosenthal came in tie for 36th following a round of 76 to total a 4-over 220. Sophomore Boo Timko finished tied for 47th with a 7-over 223, while Grant Weaver concluded the tournament tied for 55th with a 10-over 226. Freshman Tee-k Kelly rounded out the Buckeye lineup with a 21-over 237.
The Buckeyes take a month off from competition before returning to the links at the Seminole Intercollegiate March 15-17. The three-day tournament will be played at the Southwood Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla.
