COLUMBUS, Ohio - Bri'onte Dunn, from Canton, Ohio and GlenOak High School, was named the Big Ten Conference freshman of the week after his career-best day in Ohio State's 52-22 win over Illinois this past weekend.
Dunn set career high totals in his most extended playing time of the season with 13 rushes, 73 yards and a 5.6 yards per carry average. He had a long gain of 11 yards and he capped Ohio State's scoring with a three-yard touchdown run with 1:26 left to play.
The Buckeyes recorded their third 300-yard rushing game of the season with 330 yards against the Illini. The team's five rushing touchdowns marked the third time this season with five-or-more rushing scores in a game.
Dunn is averaging 5.3 yards per carry off 25 rushes this season. He has 133 net yards, two touchdowns and he has not lost a yard from scrimmage to date.
The 10-0 and No. 5-ranked Buckeyes (Associated Press) are off this week. They play at Wisconsin Nov. 17 in a 3:30 p.m. EST game that will be televised locally and regionally by ABC and with a reverse mirror in other parts of the country on ESPN2.
