COLUMBUS, Ohio - A memorial service for Ohio State graduate and former football player Jason Winrow, who died Sunday at his home in Westerville, Ohio, will be held Thursday, Sept. 27, at the Fawcett Center (2400 Olentangy River Road). The service will start at 4 p.m.
A native of Bridgeton, N.J., Winrow was a three-year starter as a tackle and guard for the Buckeyes and coach John Cooper from 1991-93. He was a first-team all-Big Ten Conference guard in 1993 and was drafted in the sixth round of the 1994 NFL Draft by the New York Giants.
Winrow, who was 41, graduated in March of this year with his degree in economics. He came back to school through the Ohio State athletic department's highly successful Degree Completion Program. Winrow represented the 137th former Buckeye student-athlete to graduate though the program.
A fund has been set up to help Winrow's widow (Nancy) and three children. Those wishing to donate to the Jason Winrow Memorial Fund can do so at any Chase Bank branch location or by mailing:
