J.T. Barrett, Tyquan Lewis Earn Big Ten Preseason Honors

CHICAGO -- Ohio State standouts J.T. Barrett and Tyquan Lewis were chosen today to the Big Ten Conference's preseason list of 10 outstanding players from the conference with five representing the Big Ten East and five representing the West. The announcement was made in conjunction with the start of Big Ten Media Days at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago.

Barrett, a 6-2, 220-pounder from Wichita Falls, Texas and Rider High School, is a two-time Big Ten Conference Griese-Brees quarterback of the year and he shared the Chicago Tribune Silver Football Award last season with Penn State's Saquon Barkley.

Lewis is the reigning Big Ten Conference Smith-Brown defensive lineman of the year. The Tarboro, N.C., native and Tarboro High School graduate is 6-4 and 265 pounds and enters his final campaign with the Buckeyes with 27.0 tackles-for-loss and 16.5 quarterback sacks.

Lewis, graduated offensive center Billy Price and senior linebacker Chris Worley are representing Ohio State at the 2017 Big Ten Media Days.
