Jacoby Boren named Big Ten Distinguished Scholar

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Junior offensive lineman Jacoby Boren was named a Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholar today by the league for having an overall grade point average this past academic year of above 3.70. Boren, from Pickerington and Pickerington Central High School, is majoring in sustainable plant systems.
Ohio State produced a total of 89 Distinguished Scholars within its Department of Athletics. Conference wide, Boren was one of only 22 football players from seven schools to earn Distinguished Scholar status. He has previously been named an OSU Scholar-Athlete on three occasions and he is an Academic All-Big Ten Conference honoree.
Boren is a true junior. He played nearly 200 snaps in six games last season as the backup center to first-team all-Big Ten center and NFL Draft pick Corey Linsley. He earned his first Varsity O letter.
