COLUMBUS, Ohio- The Ohio State Four-Miler, which debuted in 2013 with a sold-out field of 10,000 runners and walkers, will return to the Ohio State campus on Sept. 21, 2014, The Ohio State University Department of Athletics and IMG College announced today.
The Ohio State Four-Miler will start outside of Ohio Stadium and take participants on a four-mile tour of the Ohio State campus before finishing on the 50-yard line of Ohio Stadium. The Ohio State Four-Miler Post-Race Tailgate Party will be held outside Ohio Stadium after the race.
The 2014 Ohio State Four-Miler will be limited to 12,000 runners and walkers. Last year's event sold out at 10,000.
Registration for this year's Ohio State Four-Miler is open at www.ohiostatefourmiler.com. An early registration fee of $45 for the general public and $40 for Ohio State students is good through June 15.
"The overwhelming response and success of the inaugural Ohio State Four-Miler was a direct reflection for the love of Ohio State sports and the desire to celebrate fitness," said Ray DeWeese, General Manager of IMG Sports Marketing. A portion of the proceeds of the Ohio State Four-Miler will benefit the Urban and Shelley Fund For Cancer Research, a general cancer research support fund dedicated to advancing cancer research at Ohio State's Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.
The 2014 Ohio State Four-Miler will begin at 9 a.m. Former Ohio State athletes, including football and basketball players including Scoonie Penn, Raymont Harris, Anthony Schlegel, William White, Justin Zwick, J.J. Sullinger and Dimitrious Stanley; Brutus Buckeye; Ohio State cheerleaders and others will participate.
The Ohio State Four-Miler will be produced by the Ohio State Department of Athletics; IMG College, the university's multimedia rights partner; the Buckeye Cruise For Cancer; and M3S Sports.

Runners and walkers will receive an Ohio State-themed technical race shirt a must-have Buckeye-themed Official Finisher's Medal. The 2013 medal featured an iconic image of Ohio Stadium.
