Postgame Quotes

Ohio State Head Coach Urban Meyer
Opening statement:
"I'm honored to be the coach of an 11-0 Ohio State Buckeye team, especially one that's very deserving. We played a great defense in a great environment and their offense, to keep that running back somewhat in check, I thought our defense did a fantastic job. That one drive was painful to watch at the end where they got a score to the tying touchdown. Another overtime win and that's good to see from the Buckeyes."

On the flow of the game:
"They're No. 1 in the Big Ten versus the rush and we couldn't get that going. We're certainly not a finished product on offense and it showed, but to come down in that overtime and I thought Carlos Hyde ran, I think we need to give him the ball a little bit more. Usually we are a team that when we block someone, we have a chance to win and I don't feel like we blocked them like we have in past and we have to get back to that especially for this week coming up."

On his team's overtime offense:
"We ran a play we haven't run all day with Carlos (Hyde) to the edge, their focus was all over Braxton Miller and rightfully so. As we grow as a team, we have to stretch. I can't stand watching it and I'm sure people don't stand watching it when we just don't have the vertical threat, we have to do that. A win's a win, not a win's a win, not a great win. We just have work to do."

On the defense:
"Our defense is really playing well. You think about how far they've come and that's a credit to a bunch of good people working as a coaching staff on defense and a bunch of players listening because that's a good team. I think when we pressure guys we do a good job, so great effort."

On winning on the road:
"We have a saying and I just shared that with them, a team that refuses to be beat won't be beat. Somehow, someway, I mean a punt return for a touchdown, the first drive we were right there and we scored. We thought the up-tempo was going to hurt this team but you've got to give them credit. We tried to up-tempo them to no avail. I thought our defense played great. I thought our punt team did a heck of a job covering punts. Our punter probably had his best day, his last one wasn't very good, but our punter had an excellent day as well."

On the emotions going into overtime:
"I can't tell you our emotion was high, but we rallied them back. That's leadership on our team, and our coaches did a good job getting the guys going because we were sucking our thumbs after they scored with eight seconds left. It's over, no timeouts, the game is over. But I liked the way the offense just went in and attacked it. Carlos (Hyde) got a big run, Braxton Miller ran like Braxton Miller, we got him in some space and then we pounded it in there."
