Overview: Adolphus was a Parade Magazine All-American, U.S. Army All-American and five-star recruit (Rivals.com; Scout.com; 247Sports.com) as a high school senior ... he helped lead Taft High School to the 2011 Ohio state playoffs, registering 23.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and 90 tackles for coach Mike Martin's Senators ... he was named the state's Division III co-defensive player of the year and a first-team Associated Press all-state selection ... the No. 1 player in the state by Scout.com and 247Sports.com and the No. 2 player in the Midwest region by SuperPrep, Washington was regarded as the nation's 25th-best senior by Rivals.com, and he was also considered the No. 3 defensive end prospect by Scout.com, No. 5 by Rivals.com and No. 7 by ESPNU ... his junior stats were similar to his senior numbers (107 tackles and 19 sacks in 2010) when he helped Taft make its first-ever state playoffs appearance ... an outstanding basketball player as well, he lead the Cincinnati Metro Athletic Conference in scoring and rebounding ... he was named the Division III basketball co-player of the year in 2011 (after leading Taft to the state Final Four) and again in 2012 when he averaged 23.1 points and 14.3 rebounds per game ... he also was named in 2012 as the Gatorade Ohio player of the year in basketball ...
