Shannon Smith joined the Ohio State football family in July, 2009, providing expert administrative assistance in football operations and to the Buckeye assistant coaches. Smith is also the football clinic secretary and assists with the summer youth camp.
Smith has worked in Ohio State's department of intercollegiate athletics since 1999, spending six years (1999-2005) at the Schottenstein Center before moving to the athletics compliance office, where she served as administrative assistant from 2005-09.
A native of Cincinnati, where she played basketball and was a cheerleader at Mariemont High School, Smith attended Coastal Carolina and Kentucky before completing her degree in communications from Ohio State in 1999. She and her husband, Ryan, have a daughter, Scarlett Lane.
