Ohio State Overview: Sam Hubbard graduated from Ohio State in December of 2017 with his degree in finance and elected to bypass his fourth and final season of eligibility to enter the 2018 NFL Draft. He spent four years at Ohio State, was a first-team Academic All-American in 2016 and was a force along the defensive line for Ohio State teams that posted a combined record of 35-5 (49-6 counting his red-shirt year of 2014) including a 23-3 record vs. Big Ten teams and a 3-0 mark vs. Michigan. During this time the Buckeyes won national and Big Ten championships in 2014, won a Big Ten and Cotton Bowl championship in 2017 and a Fiesta Bowl title in 2015. He played in 40 games for his career and made 22 starts at defensive end. He ranks 15th all-time at Ohio State in both quarterback sacks with 17.0 and tackles-for-loss yardage with 154. He contributed 29.5 total tackles for loss during his career and 116 tackles. He also had an interception, three pass break-ups, two fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles. In addition to his Academic All-America honor, Hubbard was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and OSU Scholar-Athlete. He spent a week at Goldman Sachs in New York City in 2016 and spent time with JPMorgan Chase in the spring of 2017.

Notable: Hubbard is the 30th first-team Academic All-American for the football program and the third in two years. Center Jacoby Boren and kicker Jack Willoughby were first-team Academic All-Americans in 2015.

More on Sam: Hubbard was a first-team Associated Press Division I all-state safety in 2013 and was rated by Scout as the No. 1 player in the state of Ohio and a five-star recruit. Scout also ranked him the No. 2 OLB prospect in the nation and had high overall rankings by Scout (No. 29) and Rivals (No. 124) and was the No. 9 athlete by 247Sports. He led Archbishop Moeller to consecutive Division I state championships as a junior and senior. Was an outstanding lacrosse player who was committed to playing lacrosse at Notre Dame before choosing to be a Buckeye. First noticed by Urban Meyer at Moeller High School when he was playing dodgeball. Is the son of Amy and Jim Hubbard.
