Ohio State Overview: Russell Doup is in his fourth year with the football program, having initially walked on to the team in the fall of 2010 ... he walked-on as a left-footed kicking specialist, but was moved over to play safety last season ... has bulked up about 15 pounds to his current weight ... the pronunciation of his name - it sounds like "wow" with a "d" and a "p" and not "oooh" like soup - caused a minor twitter trend one time when an official player pronunciation guide incorrectly listed it as "Doup like soup."

More on Russell: Russell is majoring in marketing ... he played football (for coach Gary Keller), basketball and baseball at Mt. Vernon H.S. ... basketball and baseball teams won OCC championships ... Russell was team captain of the basketball team ... member of the National Honor Society and student council ... he is the son of Alice and Kelly Doup.
