Overview: Ross rejoined the football team as a walk-on in January 2012 ... he came on board in 2012 as a quarterback, but midway through spring drills he switched to linebacker when an opportunity to play special teams was presented ... he was recruited to Ohio State on a baseball scholarship, and he walked on to the football team in 2008 before playing baseball for the Buckeyes in 2009 ... made 11 appearances for the Buckeyes' NCAA Regional team in 2009 and was 1-1 in 31.0 innings pitched ... injured an elbow the week before the start of the 2010 baseball season ... spent some time at the University of Arizona in the fall of 2010 ... is the son of Shelley and Dennis Oltorik ... has one younger brother, Ryan.
