Ohio State Overview: Verlon played in eight games as a third-year sophomore in 2012 and then opted to leave the program at the conclusion of the season ... he played in 13 games as a Buckeye, started five times and had 10 receptions for 145 yards ... he had mid-season knee surgery in 2011 ... the knee injury, which occurred on a kickoff at the end of the Michigan State game, ended a fine red-shirt season that Verlon was having ... he started at receiver in each of the Buckeyes first five games ... he caught nine passes for 132 yards in those five games to rank second on the team in both categories at the time of his injury ... he had three catches for 66 yards in his first game as a Buckeye - vs. Akron - and he had four receptions for 43 yards against the Spartans ... he red-shirted the 2010 season as a true freshman.
