Overview: Joey O'Connor was the No. 12 offensive tackle prospect in the nation by Rivals.com and a four-star recruit ... he was a starter on the offensive line for four years at Windsor High School, earning all-state honors as a junior and senior ... he learned about physical, aggressive play first by playing hockey for 11 years ... even considered moving to Canada before his freshman season in high school to pursue a career in that sport ... Colorado's 2011 state 3A player of the year was a force on the line ... an Under Armour All-American who was the No. 1 player in Colorado according to ESPNU and the No. 2 player by the Denver Post and Rivals.com, O'Connor just missed a Top 100 ranking by Rivals.com (102) ... a SuperPrep all-Midlands selection ... he capped his career by helping coach Chris Jones' Wizards team win the 2011 state championship ... the student body president at Windsor High, he is the son of Ann and Joe O'Connor ... he is believed to be the first football recruit from Colorado to sign a letter of intent with Ohio State since Chris Sanders, from Denver's Montbello H.S., did in 1990.
