Ben Needham is in his second season with the Ohio State football program. After spending 2010 as the team's defensive quality control assistant, he will work as the defensive graduate assistant in 2011-12.
Needham came to Ohio State in 2010 after two seasons as the defensive line coach at Drake University. While at Drake from 2008-09, Needham coached two all-conference performers; and the Bulldogs ranked among the FCS Top 15 in total defense, rushing defense and scoring defense both seasons.
He began his coaching career as defensive line coach at Wabash College under Chris Creighton in 2007, helping the Little Giants advance to the D-III national quarterfinals.
A 2007 graduate of The Ohio State University, he served two years (2005-06) as an undergraduate intern with Buckeye football. He played two seasons as an offensive lineman at DePauw University before completing his degree at Ohio State.
