Ohio State Overview: A highly skilled receiver and return specialist, Marshall played in 29 games, started 11 and was the team's second-leading receiver in each of his two seasons playing. He had 38 receptions as a freshman in 2014 - only Cris Carter had more (41) as an Ohio State freshman - and 36 as a sophomore and finished his career with 74 passes caught for 979 yards (13.2 average) and 11 touchdowns. Also averaged 12.7 yards per return (fifth best at Ohio State) off his 52 career punt returns, including a 54-yard punt return touchdown in 2014 vs. Indiana, part of a four-TD day. He scored 13 career touchdowns and amassed 1,905 all-purpose yards (175 rushing, 976 receiving, 662 off punt returns and 92 from kickoff returns).
2015 Season (Sophomore): Honorable Mention All-Big Ten ... played in 12 games, starting 11 ... was second on the team with 36 catches for 477 yards and 5 TDs; also added two rushed for 30 yards ... ranked third in the Big Ten with a 13.5-yard punt return average with a long return of 38 yards ... hauled in five passes for 29 yards in the win over Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl ... caught a 25-yard TD pass from J.T. Barrett in the win at Michigan ... returned one punt 29 yards and caught 4 passes and a TD in the win at Rutgers ... had a 33-yard punt return and caught two passes for 56 yards in the win over Minnesota ... caught a 6-yard TD pass vs. MSU ... recorded a career-high 110 yards receiving on a personal-best 6 catches in the win at Indiana ... also had 76 punt return yards, including a 38-yard return ... 4 catches or 78 yards, including a 48-yard TD in the win over Maryland ... caught two passes for 48 yards, including a 37-yard TD in the win over WMU ... had three catches for 40 yards vs. Hawai'i and had three punt returns for 45 yards, including a 32-yarder ... returned a punt 26 yards in the win over NIU, setting up Ohio State's first TD.
2014 Season (Freshman): Athlon's freshman All-America ... played in all 15 games and was the second-leading receiver with 38 receptions for 499 yards and six touchdowns ... only Pro Football Hall of Famer Cris Carter had more receptions as a freshman at Ohio State - 41 for 648 yards with eight touchdowns in 1984 - than Marshall had as a frosh ... scored four touchdowns vs. Indiana, including a 54-yard punt return touchdown ... had a career-high 95 receiving yards vs. both Minnesota and Indiana ... had career-best five catches four times, including vs. Alabama (for 55 yards) and vs. Oregon (for 52 yards).
