Career Overview: Corey Brown spent five years with the program, including a red-shirt season as a true freshman in 2009 ... he played in 47 games as a Buckeye and started nine times ... he had 79 tackles and one interception ... this Corey Brown was known as Corey "Pittsburgh" Brown or "Pitt" because of his hometown's proximity to the Steel City ... the nickname also differentiated him from the other criminology major on the team from near Philadelphia, Pa.: Corey "Philly" Brown. Senior Season: Corey started nine times at safety in 2013, including eight consecutive starts to end the regular season once the team lost three-year starter Christian Bryant to an ankle injury ... Brown ranked sixth on the team with 55 tackles and he also had a pass break-up and an interception - the first of his career - vs. Penn State ... his INT was huge and came in the end zone on a PSU drive to tie the game after Ohio State had taken an early 7-0 lead ... had a career-high 10 tackles vs. California, including six solos.
