Overview: Blake Thomas arrived at Ohio State with a reputation of being an overpowering blocking tight end, but he can catch the football as well ... he had a combined 49 receptions for 506 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior and senior ... the only tight end in the Ohio State class of 2012 caught 24 passes for 256 yards and scored two touchdowns as a junior for the powerful St. Ignatius program under the direction of Chuck Kyle, and then he came back as a senior to record 25 catches for 250 yards and six touchdowns ... Thomas helped St. Ignatius win its 11th Ohio Division I state championship in 2011, capping a 13-2 season with a 34-13 win over Pickerington Central in the title game ... he caught four passes for 47 yards in the title game ... was named special mention all-state by the Associated Press in 2011 and to the Northeast Lakes all-district football team ... he was the No. 16-ranked tight end nationally by Rivals.com with additional rankings of No. 22 by Scout.com and No. 42 by ESPNU ... rated as the No. 29 prospect in Ohio by Rivals.com ...
