COLUMBUS, Ohio—Ohio State student season ticket packages for the 2012-13 men’s basketball season sold out in less than five minutes Thursday, Brett Scarbrough, Ohio State assistant athletics director for ticketing and premium seating, said.
Student season ticket packages, consisting of nine games (2,400 seats), were gone by 6:04 p.m., Scarbrough said. The online sale began at 6 p.m. Additionally, 500 student tickets available for the Dec. 22 game vs. Kansas also were sold by 6:04 p.m.
Another game not included in the season ticket package, the final home game of the season vs. Illinois, was sold out by 6:30 game. A total of 500 tickets were available to students for that game.
Both the Kansas and Illinois games fell during periods when Ohio State students are on break.
A limited number of seats still remain for Walsh (Oct. 30 exhibition), Albany (Nov. 11) and December games vs. Long Beach State, Savannah State, UNC-Asheville, Winthrop and Chicago State. Student tickets also are available for the Big Ten Conference opener vs. Nebraska (Jan. 2). Tickets can be purchased at www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/tickets.
Ohio State opens the season at Value City Arena, home of the Buckeyes, Oct. 30 vs. Walsh in an exhibition contest. That game tips at 7 p.m.
