COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohio State announced the 2017-18 non-conference men's basketball schedule Wednesday. The 18-game Big Ten schedule will be released at a later date as will game times and television designations.
Ohio State opens its schedule with four-consecutive home contests, squaring off with Robert Morris Nov. 10, Radford Nov. 12, Texas Southern Nov. 16 and Northeastern Nov. 19. The Buckeyes then travel to Portland, Oregon, for the PK80 Invitational where they will open the event against defending NCAA finalist Gonzaga Nov. 23 before playing either Florida or Stanford Nov. 24. After a total of three games in Portland culminating with a contest Nov. 26, Ohio State returns home to conclude the month against Clemson in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge Nov. 29. The game vs. Northeastern in Columbus is part of the PK80 event.
After two Big Ten games open the second month of the season, Ohio State hosts William and Mary Dec. 9, Appalachian State Dec. 16 and The Citadel Dec. 19. The Buckeyes then take on defending national champion North Carolina in the fourth season of the CBSSports Classic Dec. 23 in New Orleans before concluding non-conference play against Miami (Ohio) Dec. 30 in Columbus.
The Buckeyes, as well as all other Big Ten teams, will play two conference games, one home and one away, in early December because the annual league tournament will be played a week earlier than normal in 2018. The change in schedule allows the conference tournament to be played at Madison Square Garden in New York Feb. 28-March 4.
