Vote Thad Matta
Thad Mattais one of 48 Division I coaches participating in the third annual Coaches' Charity Challenge, a fan-vote contest, with the total contributions exceeding $300,000. Matta won the challenge in 2012 and 2013, earning $100,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio. He is once again supporting RMHC. This year, the challenge will run for 10 weeks in a tournament-style contest. For the next three weeks, fans can vote once a day at VoteCoachMatta.com to help Matta advance to the round of 24. Votes will not carry over to the next round.

Back-to-Back Losses Rare for Matta
Since taking over the Buckeyes for the start of the 2004-05 season, Thad Matta'sBuckeyes have suffered back to back losses just 18 times while rebounding to claim victory 55 times following a loss. Since the end of the 2008-09 season, Ohio State has suffered consecutive losses just twice, while earning 25 victories. The only consecutive losses in the last four years occurred last season when Ohio State lost in overtime at No. 3 Michigan (76-74) Feb. 5, 2013 and then at home to No. 1 Indiana 81-68 Feb. 10. The Buckeyes were ranked No. 10 in both games.

Craft Earns Big Ten Player of the Week
Aaron Craftreached 600 career assists last week with 10 helpers at Purdue to crack the Top 10 all-time in Big Ten history. He finished the first week of conference play with 14 assists, no turnovers and seven steals to lead Ohio State to a 2-0 start in Big Ten Conference play and an overall mark of 15-0. Craft averaged 8.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 3.5 steals and shot 50 percent from the field (7-14) in wins at Purdue (78-69) and at home vs. Nebraska (84-53).

The Iowa Series
Iowa leads the all-time series against the Buckeyes 73-71 with the Buckeyes owning a 46-25 edge in Columbus. Thad Matta is 11-4 overall vs. the Hawkeyes since taking over the Ohio State program in 2004-05. Ohio State has won the last eight games in the series, the longest winning streak for the Buckeyes over Iowa all-time. The Buckeyes enter the game No. 3 nationally, Iowa No. 20. When both teams are ranked, Ohio State is 5-2. As a ranked team, the Buckeyes are 23-10 vs. Iowa. When the Hawkeyes are ranked, Ohio State is 11-17 in the series. No current Buckeye averages more than 6.5 points a game in the series with Iowa. Junior Sam Thompson is the top scorer with 6.5 ppg. Seniors Aaron Craft (6.3 ppg.) and Lenzelle Smith Jr. (6.0 ppg.) are close behind. Shannon Scottis the squad's top rebounder with 4.0 boards a game in two career meetings. Craft has the most experience in the series with four games played vs. the Hawkeyes. Iowa has played 10 games at Value City Arena with three wins overall. Iowa last won in Columbus Feb. 18, 2004, a 78-67 win for the Hawkeyes.

A Look at the Hawkeyes
Iowa enters the game with the Buckeyes ranked No. 20 nationally. It's the first time Iowa has been ranked vs. the Buckeyes in Columbus since Jan. 14, 1998 when the Hawkeyes won 61-46 vs. the unranked Buckeyes. The last time both teams were ranked in a game played in Columbus was Jan. 3, 1991. The No. 6-ranked Buckeyes won that game 63-59 over No. 22 Iowa. The current Iowa squad enters the game 13-3 overall and 2-1 in league play after the Hawkeyes' win (93-67) vs. Northwestern Thursday in Iowa City. Iowa has three players averaging double figures. Senior Roy Devyn Marble (16.0 ppg.), junior Aaron White (13.4 ppg.) and sophomore Jarrod Uthoff (10.3 ppg.) lead the Hawkeye offense. White and senior Melshan Basabe (6.6 rpg.) and Uthoff (6.1 rpg) pace a balanced rebounding effort for Iowa.
