Ohio State Tops Walsh in Exhibition Contest, 83-71
Oct. 30, 2012 COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior Deshaun Thomas led all scorers with 25 points as Ohio State topped Walsh 83-71 in an exhibition contest Tuesday evening in front of 13,474 fans at Value City Arena. Sophomore LaQuinton Ross, senior Evan Ravenel and sophomore Sam Thompson also scored in double figures for Ohio State. Ross totaled 13 points in his first start as a Buckeye, while Ravenel and Thompson chipped in 11 each. Jeff Copeland led the Walsh effort with 16 points. After trailing for much of the first half, the Buckeyes used a 17-3 run over the final 5:34 to gain a 39-30 lead at the intermission. Extending the run to 26-12 to begin the second half, the Scarlet and Gray led by no less than 11 points the rest of the game. Ohio State opens the 2012 season Nov. 6 vs. Marquette at the Carrier Classic in Charleston, S.C. A replay of tonight’s game will air on BTN at 3 p.m. Wednesday. Postgame Notes
