COLUMBUS, Ohio – Gray defeated Scarlet, 1-0, Thursday evening to win the Ohio State baseball team’s annual Scarlet & Gray World Series Thursday evening at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium.

Gray scored an unearned run off Zach Farmer in the top of the fifth inning when Tanner Tully reached on a fielder’s choice with one down, moved to third on an error and scored on a single by Curtiss Irving.

That would be the difference as Greg Greve struck out five and allowed two hits in 5.1 scoreless innings to pick up the win. After Joe Stoll and Yianni Pavlopoulos finished out the sixth, Trace Dempsey struck out a pair in a perfect seventh to earn the save.

The teams play Game 5 at 6 p.m. Friday and Game 6 at noon Saturday at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium.
