Buckeyes Conclude Summer Ball

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Members of the Ohio State baseball team recently wrapped up successful summer ball seasons across the country. Six Buckeyes were named all-stars in their respective leagues and multiple others put together solid campaigns.

Jacob Bosiokovic, Jake Post and Zach Ratcliff were named Prospect League all-stars, Craig Nennig earned an all-star nod in the Valley League and Trace Dempsey and Jaron Long, now a member of the New York Yankees organization, were named Cape Cod League all-stars.

A look at some of the Buckeye summer ball highlights:

Jacob Bosiokovic – Richmond RiverRats – 3B – All-Star, .258, 13 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 34 runs scored, 31 RBI
Trace Dempsey – Bourne Braves – RHP – All-Star, 1-1, 4 SV, 1.38 ERA, 17 K in 13.0 IP
Aaron GretzAlexandria Blue Anchors – C – .261, 8 2B, 5 HR, 23 runs scored, 22 RBI
Greg Greve – Chillicothe Paints – RHP – 5-3, 2.16 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 45.2 IP
Ryan Leffel – Lorain County Ironmen – INF – .276, 7 2B, 1 3B, 1 HR, 19 RBI, 17 runs scored
Craig Nennig – Covington Lumberjacks – INF – All-Star .273, 2 2B, 1 3B, 15 RBI, 15 runs scored
Ryan Riga – Wareham Gatemen – LHP – 1-2, 2.48 ERA, 18 K in 25.1 IP


 

 

The 2014 Buckeyes will be back on campus next week with classes starting Aug. 21 and fall practice beginning Sept. 8.
