Eighteen Buckeyes Start Summer Ball

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Eighteen members of the Ohio State baseball team are starting their seasons in summer collegiate wood bat leagues across the country. Eight Buckeyes are playing in the Prospect League, four are on Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League teams, three in the Cape Code Collegiate Baseball League, two in the Valley League and one in the Northwoods League.

The Chillicothe Paints, Lorain County Ironmen and Dayton Docs each have three Buckeyes competing for them this summer.

2013 also marks the second-consecutive season multiple Buckeyes will be playing in the Cape Cod Collegiate Baseball League as Trace Dempsey and Jaron Long will be playing for the Bourne Braves and Ryan Riga will be a member Wareham Gatemen.
