Buckeyes Head Out for Summer Ball

Follow the Buckeyes on Twitter COLUMBUS, Ohio – Eighteen members of the Ohio State baseball team are beginning their summers in collegiate wood bat leagues from Bourne, Mass., to Kilgore, Texas. The Chillicothe Paints have the most Buckeyes with four while the Lorain County Ironmen have three and the Bourne Braves and Hamilton Joes each have two. Seven Buckeyes will be playing in the Prospect League and three will be playing in the Valley League and Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League. Josh Dezse and Jaron Long, both playing for the Bourne Braves, become the first Buckeyes to be spending their summers playing in the Cape Cod Collegiate Baseball League since Alex Wimmers and Dan Burkhart played for Bourne and the Hyannis Mets, respectively, in 2009.
