COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior right-hander Brad Goldberg has been named Big Ten Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Monday. The award is the first Big Ten weekly award for a Buckeye since Pat Porter was named Freshman of the Week April 9 of last season.
Goldberg, from Beachwood, Ohio, picked up the win in his Ohio State debut as the Buckeyes topped St. John's, 3-1, Sunday. The senior tossed seven scoreless innings, striking out seven while giving up two hits. He allowed just one baserunner past second base.
Ohio State travels to Port Charlotte, Fla., Fri.-Sun. for the Snowbird Classic. The Buckeyes will play a pair of games against South Dakota St. and two more against Mount St. Mary’s.
