COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Former Buckeye and current Minnesota Twin Eric Fryer will be the guest speaker at the team's annual Meet the Team Dinner Feb. 1 at the University Plaza Hotel and Conference Center.
Fryer was taken in the 10th round of the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers and has seen time in the big leagues in each of the last three seasons, spending 2011 and 2012 with the Pittsburgh Pirates before signing as a free agent with the Minnesota Twins before the 2013 campaign. His last season at Ohio State in 2007, Fryer was tied for fifth on the team in hitting at .322, first in doubles (16), second in RBI (50) and third in hits (74). He started 61 of 62 games on the year and was a second-team All-Big Ten choice.
The dinner will start with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the program beginning at 7:15 p.m.
All are welcome to attend. Tickets are $25 for Diamond Club members and their immediate family and $40 for non-Diamond Club members and can be purchased by calling the Ohio State baseball office at 614-292-1075.
