Ohio State Opens Seven-Game Homestand with Big Ten Series Against Illinois

Buckeyes are 23-12 on the season, 7-5 in Big Ten play

2017 (Fifth-Year Senior Season)
1-6 with a 4.32 ERA with 52 strikeouts in 58.1 innings pitched this season … returned to the mound vs. Kansas State after a 2016 medical redshirt season and tossed six innings, scattering two runs on five hits with three strikeouts and no walks (2/19) … received the loss vs. No. 5 Oregon State, allowing three runs, three walks and four hits with two strikeouts in four innings of work (2/26) … pitched six innings and struck out a career-high eight batters in the win over Campbell, marking his first win as a Buckeye starting pitcher since the 2014 season (3/4) … struck out six in five innings of work in a no decision performance vs. Xavier (3/18) … had five strikeouts in six innings for a no decision performance against Minnesota (3/24) … five strikeouts and five scoreless innings in six innings of work in tough-luck loss vs. Purdue (4/2) … struck out five in five innings in no decision at Penn State in game one (4/9) … fanned six in six innings of work, allowing three runs on six hits in loss vs. Nebraska (4/29).

2015 (Junior Season)
2-3 with a 2.12 ERA in 29.2 innings pitched with 24 strikeouts in 15 appearances out of the bullpen for the Buckeyes … earned the win in the 2015 opener vs. George Mason after throwing 4.0 scoreless innings with season-high five strikeouts and allowing just one hit (2/13) … claimed his first save of the year at FAU, tossing 3.1 scoreless innings on two hits, no walks and two strikeouts (2/20) … tossed 2.1 scoreless innings with two strikeouts vs. MSU (3/20) … collected two strikeouts in two innings of shutout relief at Rutgers (3/28) … tossed 1.2 scoreless innings vs. No. 4 Louisville with one strikeout (4/14).

2014 (Sophomore Season)
3-3 with a 3.35 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 48.1 innings pitched over 15 appearances, including six starts ... tossed 4.0 scoreless innings of relief, striking out a career-high six to pick up the win vs. The Citadel (2/22) ... earned the win vs. Western Kentucky (3/1), allowing one earned run on three hits over 2.2 innings pitched ... pitched 3.0 scoreless innings, striking out three, to pick up his first-career save vs. Michigan State (3/22) ... suffered the tough-luck loss, tossing a career-high 8.2 innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on seven hits at Nebraska (4/6).

2013 (Freshman Season)
2-1 with a 4.99 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 30.2 innings pitched over eight appearances, including seven starts ... made first career appearance vs. Notre Dame (2/16) and first start vs. Mount St. Mary's (4/24) ... tossed 6.0 scoreless innings, allowing a hit and striking out four to pick up first career win vs. Miami (4/3) ... pitched 5.0 scoreless frames, striking out four and allowing three hits in win over Marshall (4/10) ... tossed 3.0 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out four at Cincinnati (4/17).

Chesterton H.S.
A three-year starter at Chesterton ... a 29th-round pick by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2012 MLB Draft ... named all-conference and all-state as a senior ... also named all-region by Rawlings ... Indiana North/South All-Star as a senior ... went 7-2 with 85 strikeouts in 58 innings as a junior.
