Gray Comes Back to Top Scarlet, 8-5, in Game 1

Gray scored three runs in the seventh to tie it and three more in the eighth to defeat Scarlet, 8-5, in Game 1 of the Scarlet & Gray World Series Friday evening at Bill Davis Stadium

Coach Greg Beals: "Blake is a left-handed hitter who can play many positions. He has speed and arm strength to help us in our outfield."

2011 (Freshman): Appeared in six games off the bench ... went 1-for-5 with a walk for the season ... recorded a pinch-hit single against Illinois State (3/11) ... named an OSU Scholar-Athlete.

Dr. Phillips H.S.: The left-handed hitting Blake, a 2010 captain at Dr. Phillips, was named All-Metro Conference as well as his team's MVP following his senior season ... tournament MVP of spring break tourney ... he was a two-year starter and batted .443 as a senior and his team finished with a 13-14 record ... high school has a rich tradition of baseball alumni, producing four Major Leaguers including Johnny Damon and A.J. Pierzynski ... majoring in pre-business at Ohio State.

Personal: Blake is the son of Mark and Joan Hutton ... brother, Brad, is also a member of the Ohio State baseball team, transferring in from Polk State College in Florida.
