Ohio State Overview: Drew will retain weekend starter status for a second consecutive year ... he is coming off a terrific off-season conditioning program, according to coach Greg Beals, and is throwing the ball "better and harder than he ever has" ... enters 2011 with 17 career wins, including a school-record 12 in relief in 2009 ... ranks fifth all-time at Ohio State in fewest bases on balls (70) with at least 175 innings pitched ... also ranks 12th with seven career saves ... 71 appearances are seventh-most all-time at Ohio State ... 2010 (Junior): Drew played through a painful split on the middle finger of his pitching hand for most of the Big Ten campaign ... even so, he managed to post a 4-4 record with a 5.45 ERA for the season ... started 10 times and made 10 relief appearances as well, picking up four saves along the way ... threw 71.0 innings, topping 70 for the second consecutive year ... pitched in relief first half of the season and boasted a 2.10 ERA in first 12 appearances with 29 strikeouts and only five walks in first 26.2 innings pitched ... outstanding in a 9.0 inning, complete-game win over Michigan with career-best nine strikeouts with just one walk ... pitched at least 5.0 innings in eight of 10 starts.

2009 (Sophomore): Made 36 appearances, all out of the bullpen ... named Academic All-Big Ten Conference and an OSU Scholar-Athlete ... tied for fifth in the country and tops in the Big Ten with 12 wins, all in relief ... second in the Big Ten in appearances ... third on the team with a 5.54 ERA and ranked fourth with 74.2 innings pitched ... led the team with three pickoffs and third on the team with 62 strikeouts ... 4-0 in Big Ten play ... named Big Ten Conference Pitcher of the Week (2/23) and to the BIG EAST/Big Ten Challenge All-Tournament Team after going 1-0 and throwing 6.1 shutout innings ... picked up a pair of wins in the Kennel Club Classic including one against North Florida in which he went 3.2 innings, his longest outing of the year, punching out five ... threw 5.2 innings, striking out eight in two appearances in the RussMatt Invitational ... pitched 2.2 shutout innings against SIU Edwardsville ... threw 3.0 shutout innings in the Buckeyes' one-hit masterpiece against then-No. 2 Miami ... went 2.1 shutout innings, striking out three against Michigan (G2) ... picked up the win in all three of the Buckeyes' postseason victories (Illinois at Big Tens and Marist and Georgia in the NCAAs).

2008 (Freshman): Ranked third on the staff in appearances with 15 and his 10 walks allowed in 29.1 innings pitched was the lowest among all Buckeyes ... picked up a win in his first collegiate game, pitching 4.0 innings in relief in a 6-5 win over Seton Hall ... gave up just three hits, no earned runs, walked none and struck out two Pirates ... struck out three in 1.1 innings vs. Louisiana Tech in his second outing ... picked up the save against Dartmouth, pitching 2.2 innings, scattering three hits, striking out two and allowing no runs ... pitched 3.0 innings of one-run relief vs. Central Michigan ... lasted four innings and allowed three runs in first collegiate start, vs. Akron.

Union H.S.: A three-year starter and four-year letterman ... was named first-team all-state as a senior ... was also an all-Frontier Valley Conference selection ... team was 28-6 his senior year ... finished senior year with an 8-2 record and a 1.57 ERA in 71 innings pitched ... team was Oklahoma 6A state champs his sophomore and junior years ... played summers for the Midwest Nationals of the Premier League ... lists being the winning pitcher in the 2006 Oklahoma 6A championship game as his greatest sports experience.
