2011 (Freshman): Started all 53 games, 32 at first base and 21 as a designated hitter ... led the team with a .332 batting average, 42 runs batted in, a .472 slugging percentage and .427 on-base percentage ... tied for the team lead with four home runs ... recorded 11 doubles, two triples, 30 runs scored and tied for second on the team with 27 walks ... tied for third on the team with 17 multi-hit games ... went 5-for-7 with the bases loaded and led the team with a .338 average with runners in scoring position ... made 26 appearances out of the bullpen, going 4-2 with a 5.53 ERA and a team-high six saves ... struck out 32 batters in 27.2 innings pitched ... Big Ten Freshman of the Year ... became 14th Ohio State Freshman All-American after earning honors from Collegiate Baseball and second team NCBWA Freshman All-American laurels ... earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors four times and Player of the Week laurels twice ... tossed 2.0 scoreless innings while going 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored at the plate vs. St John's (2/20) ... 7-for-12 with two RBI at Big Ten/Big East Challenge (2/18-20) ... earned first collegiate save against Western Michigan (2/25) ... 5-for-16 with five RBI and two runs scored in series vs. Western Michigan (2/25-27) ... 5-for-12 with a double and two RBI in Northwestern series (4/1-3) ... 8-for-11 with a double, a triple, a home run and eight RBI vs. Michigan State (4/15-17) ... 6-for-10 with a double, a triple, six RBI and three runs scored vs. Michigan (4/29-30) ... also tossed 2.0 perfect innings, striking out six over two appearances vs. the Wolverines ... 4-for-12 with a double, a home run and three RBI in Minnesota series (5/19-21).

Olentangy Liberty H.S.: A three-year starter, Josh was named first team all-district and honorable mention all-state by the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association as a senior ... he was selected in the 28th-round of the 2010 MLB draft by the New York Yankees ... he went 5-2 on the mound with one save, a 2.44 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 43.0 innings for a 21-9 Olentangy Liberty team that was a District runner-up ... also hit .410 with five home runs and 33 RBI ... one of the Top 10 players in the state as a senior, according to The Buckeye Scout ... as a junior, he batted .348 with 19 RBI and he went 5-0 with a 1.60 ERA. He played for the Ohio Elite U-18 team this summer.
