Chorba and Sharp Added to Coaching Staff
Aug 22, 2013
We want to share with you some of our additions to our coaching staff at Ohio State University! We have transitioned Ray Sharp into an assistant coach to the Spirit Program and head coach of the Brutus Buckeye Team! Ray had been a member of the Spirit Program as Brutus Buckeye for the past four years. His experience and expertise in the field makes the transition seamless and we are excited to have him as an official member of our staff.
We recently hired Steve Chorba as our new assistant cheerleading coach. Steve brings over a decade of coaching experience to The Ohio State University. Prior to joining our staff, Chorba spent three years as head coach of Illinois State University. He also previously spent two years as the head trainer for the Danish Cheerleading Association, in efforts to promote and advance the sport of cheerleading in Europe. In addition to working with the curriculum and program development, Chorba was also involved in running private camps in Denmark.
During the 2007-08 season, Chorba served as captain of the Louisville cheerleading team while he continued his education in exercise science. Prior to Louisville, Chorba worked four seasons as the head coach at DePaul.
Chorba still serves as a head instructor and member of the core staff and college staff of the Universal Cheerleaders Association (UCA), which he began in 1998.
Certified by the AACCA, Chorba earned his bachelor's degree in biological science at DePaul in 2000. We look forward to having Steve as a member of our coaching staff.
