Cheerleaders Place Sixth At Nationals

Columbus, Ohio-The Ohio State University Cheerleading squad placed sixth at the 2002 College Cheerleading National Championship in Orlando, Fla. Saturday night. There were 24 Division I-A schools competing at the competition. The Buckeyes placed the highest among Big Ten schools.
The Buckeyes placed ahead of Penn State, Michigan State and Minnesota in the final round. Northwestern and Illinois did not advance past the semi-finals.
The University of Kentucky placed first for its eighth national championship in a row and 12th overall. Rounding out the top five were Central Florida, Alabama, Louisiana State and Hawaii.
Members of the Ohio State Nationals squad included co-captains Jennifer Barr and Tim Pike, Katy Adcock, Patrick Fogarty, Mike Fresch, Michelle Fultz, Joe Jackson, Alan Ray, Amy Hawkins, Tyler Houchin, Andy Masters, Chris Ove, Katie Pahl, Tim Pike, Paul Schlitz, Candice Shubert and Paul Tapaszi.
