No. 9 Buckeyes Head to Reno to Face No. 17 Nevada

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The No. 9 Ohio State rifle team will travel across the country to take on No. 17 Nevada in Reno this coming Saturday, October 26th. The trip to Reno will be a first for the program and will also be Ohio State’s first conference match in the new Patriot Rifle Conference (PRC).

The Buckeyes are coming off of their first home match of the season two weeks ago where the Buckeyes fired a home match record score of 4645 against Akron. Ohio State will be looking to make a push up the rankings before the end of the fall season.

Against the Zips the Buckeyes were led by sophomore Remington Lyman who fired an overall score of 1174 followed closely by senior Amanda Luoma (1163) and freshman Deanna Binnie (1161). Sophomore Greg Hagar (1147) and freshman Chrissy Thomas (1139) rounded out team scoring for the Buckeyes. Additionally, sophomore Alex Kimura and freshman Anthony Cuozzo both fired season highs with 1151 and 1158 respectively.

The Nevada Wolfpack, led by head coach Fred Harvey in his 18th season, are coming off of a very close five point loss to No. 16 Akron at home last weekend. In smallbore Nevada was led by seniors Chelsie Hata and Haunani Akana who fired scores of 569 and 567. In air rifle, sophomore Greta Ochsner led the Wolfpack with a score of 584 followed by Hata who fired a 581.



The match will take place at the Wolf Pack Range all day Saturday.
