Former Olympian Emily Caruso Joins Staff as Assistant Coach

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State Rifle Team head coach Ryan Tanoue has announced the hiring of two-time US Olympian Emily Caruso as Assistant Coach.

“I am extremely excited about having Emily join our program,” Tanoue said. “She brings an unparalleled level of knowledge and experience that will help our team continue to develop and excel into the future.”

A native of Fairfield, Conn., Caruso comes to Ohio State from Texas Christian University where she spent the last three seasons as the Assistant Rifle Coach. She is a 2000 graduate of Norwich University (Northfield, Vt.) where she was the 1998 NCAA Air Rifle Champion and majored in Psychology.

“I am very excited about this opportunity, and can’t wait to get to know the student athletes and get started on helping the team accomplish their goals,” said Caruso.

Caruso’s noteworthy athletic career is highlighted by her competing in air rifle at the 2004 (Athens) and 2008 (Beijing) Olympic Games where she placed 9th and 15th respectively.
