TCU captured the team championship at the 2012 NCAA Rifle Championships taking place at Ohio State.
The Horned Frogs, with a team score of 4676, placed first among the eight-team field. Kentucky and Alaska-Fairbanks each had a team total of 4661, but the Wildcats were the second-place finisher by virtue of more center shots. Kentucky (2328) was the top team in smallbore, while TCU (2353) was the team champion in air rifle.
Saturday, West Virginia's Petra Zublasing won the individual air rifle title with a score of 696.2. Abigail Stanec of Ole Miss was second (693.5) and Sarah Scherer of TCU was third (693.3) in air rifle.
Friday, Scherer won the smallbore individual title with a score of 688.6. Michael Matthews of Army was the smallbore runner-up (687.6) and Kentucky's Emily Holsopple placed third (687.0).
