Ohio State Set to Host NCAA Qualifier

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State University will serve as one of nine NCAA rifle qualifier locations this Saturday, Feb. 22.
The Hugh W. Wylie Range will host Akron, Rose Hulman, Purdue, Ohio State and individuals from West Virginia this Saturday as part of the NCAA Qualifier/NRA Sectional competition.
Scores from this weekend’s competitions held throughout the country will be combined with the current three-score average to determine the eight-team field for the NCAA Rifle Championships which will be held at Murray State University, March 13-15.
Ohio State is currently ranked ninth in the nation with an average of 4659 points. Just ahead of the Buckeyes in the rankings are Air Force (4660.67), Army (4663.67) and Memphis (4666). Akron comes into the qualifier ranked 16th (4609 pts) while Rose Hulman is currently ranked 25th (4467 pts).
The competition will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and will run all day.
