Lauren Alman finished second in air rifle and the two-gun aggregate against Columbus State and Akron

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State (3-0) rifle team scored 4,622 in defeating Columbus State (4,569) and Akron (4,569) Saturday at the Lt. Hugh G Wylie Range in Converse Hall. The Buckeyes won both events shooting a 2,293 in smallbore to 2,266 for Columbus State. In air rifle, OSU shot 2,329 with the Akron-Gold team taking second at 2,306.
Ohio State’s Amanda Furrer won both events recording a 585 in smallbore rifle and a 590 in air rifle. Akron’s Victoria Brown placed second at 573 with OSU’s Amanda Luoma taking third at 572 and Lauren Alman fourth at 571. Taking second in air rifle, Alman shot 584 with Columbus State’s April Dunn finishing third at 581 and Sarah Benjamin of Akron with a 581 taking fourth. Furrer completed the sweep by taking first in the two-gun aggregate with a 1,175. OSU’s Alman was second at 1,155 with Akron’s Benjamin and Columbus State’s Dunn tied for third at 12,148.
Ohio State will next shoot at Morehead State on Oct. 29.
