COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State University pistol team has laid out its competition slate for 2017-18 and action begins by hosting Akron on Saturday, Oct. 14. The Buckeyes will also host Purdue (Jan. 27-28) and the Collegiate Pistol Sectionals (Feb. 9-10) later in the season.
In addition to taking on the Zips and Boilermakers, Ohio State will travel to face MIT (Nov. 9-10), Army (Nov. 17-18), The Citadel (Jan. 20-21) and the Coast Guard (Feb. 23-24). The Buckeyes also venture to Colorado Springs and the Olympic Training Center in late October -- joining Army, Coast Guard, North Dakota State and Utah for a two-day event (Oct. 27-28).
The USAS Winter Air Championships (Dec. 1-3) and Camp Perry Open (Jan. 13-14) round out the regular season docket before postseason shooting starts in Columbus with the Collegiate Pistol Sectionals on Feb. 9-10. Then comes the grand finale and the National Collegiate Pistol Championships in Fort Benning, Ga., from March 21-23.
