COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio State pistol team finished second in the open aggregate events at the NRA Collegiate Pistol Championships Saturday at Ft. Benning, Ga. The Buckeyes finished second in open air pistol with a 2,191 score behind the United States Military Academy's 2,224. That margin gave Army the open aggregate championship with a 6,357 score. OSU finished second with a 6,330 and The Citadel was third at 6,267. This is Ohio State's highest finish since being second in 2008.

In the open air pistol event, Blake Reburn shot a 556, finishing sixth (648.9) in the competition. Other Buckeye scores included Joe Totts (547), Aaron Tourigny (547) and Bryan Basenback (541). Nick Mowrer of Pikes Peak won the event with a 576 (678.4).

Totts finished third in the three-gun aggregate with a 1,597 mark. Mowrer was first with a 1,695.

Ohio State head coach Jim Sweeney was honored at the event by being named the Outstanding Coach of the Year and received the Outstanding Service Award for his efforts of encouraging newly founded collegiate teams and providing opportunities for community shooters.
