COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State pistol team will travel to Columbus, Ga., to compete at the NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Championships held at Ft. Benning March 12-15.
The Buckeyes have qualified for all five team events as well as qualifying six for individual events.
As a team, Ohio State qualified in second place behind Navy in both free pistol and standard pistol with scores of 2,018 and 2,148, respectively. In air pistol, the Buckeyes qualified in fourth place behind Army, Navy and MIT with a score of 2,191.
In women’s competition, Ohio State qualified third in air pistol behind Army and Navy with a 1,049. In women’s sport pistol, the Buckeyes qualified in fourth place behind Army, Navy and MIT with a 1,571.
Six Buckeyes also qualified for individual competition. Gary Reburn (free, standard and air), Jason Reineck (free, second alternate air pistol), A.J. Tourigny (free), Joe Totts (free, standard and air), Greyson McCaig (free, standard and air) and Kimberly Hullings (standard, air, women’s air and women’s sport) will all have the opportunity to compete for an individual title as well.
The NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Championships open March 12 at 9 a.m. with the Free Pistol Championship and conclude March 14 at 5 p.m. with the Awards Ceremony and Banquet.
